The Most Awarded Craft Distiller in The Northwest

Eastside Distilling, Inc. (NASDAQ: EAST), makers of craft spirits, today announced that its craft spirits won 21 medals at the 2018 Los Angeles World Spirits Competition. Of these 21 medals, 14 were won by Eastside directly and 7 in the Big Bottom Distilling (“BBD”) division.

Since introducing the spirits category in 2007, the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition has set a high standard for judging distilled beverages. Each year an esteemed panel of judges use a blind-tasting method to award medals to the best spirits from around the world, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism set 78 years ago by its partner wine competition.

Eastside Distilling Announces Its First American Single Malt Whiskey

Award Winning 2-Year-Old Single Malt Goes Into Limited Release Today From Eastside’s Big Bottom Distilling Ltd.

Eastside Distilling, Inc. (NASDAQ: EAST), makers of craft spirits, today introduced the Company’s first authentic American Single Malt Whiskey. The new product was distilled “from grain to glass” by Big Bottom Distilling (“BBD”), Eastside Distilling’s Hillsboro, Oregon-based subsidiary. The new BBD American Single Malt has already won two very prestigious craft spirits industry awards, a Gold Medal from the 2018 Francisco World Spirits Competition and Best of Category (with 93 points) from the 2018 Los Angeles International Spirits Competition. A limited number of bottles of the new release will be available at liquor stores in Oregon, the BBD tasting room in Hillsboro, OR, as well as at Eastside’s tasting rooms on 7^th Street, Washington Square Mall, Clackamas and Woodburn.

After being aged for a minimum of two years in new and used American Oak barrels, the 91-proof whiskey can legally be designated “American Single Malt Whiskey.” The process uses a premium two-row malted barley, grown in the Pacific Northwest, and BBD’s proprietary yeast strains that were painstakingly developed for BBD single malts by veteran Lead Distiller Travis Schoney. Mr. Schoney served several years as a Distiller and Blender at craft distiller, High West Distilling in Park City, Utah, prior to its acquisition by Constellation Brands. BBD American Single Malt Whiskey is distilled on premises, barreled in American oak and bottled entirely in-bond, and therefore meets the rigorous standards for the new “American Single Malt” category in the process of being established by the U.S. government.

We see American Single Malt as a new and exciting category of super-premium spirit. In terms of skill and artisanship, American distillers are at the world pinnacle. An important barrier to entry for those who chose to enter the category is that to qualify as American Single Malt, a whiskey must be a ‘grain to glass’ spirit, distilled, barreled and bottled at the distillery. Mr. Wickersham continued, “We tasted our new malt whiskey in barrel a year or so ago and were blown away by how well it was progressing. Frankly, it was a major factor in our wanting to bring the BBD crew into the Eastside family in the 2017 acquisition. We are excited by the high quality of this first release. Given the rave reviews by top spirits critics, we obviously are not feeling disappointed. We couldn’t be prouder of Travis, Ted and the rest of the team. Our only regret is that production is highly, highly limited right now in terms of cases per year, but plans are fully in place to ramp up our single malt distilling capacity several fold this year.”

Eastside Award-Winning Burnside Oregon Oaked Rye Launched on West Coast

This award-winning new rye whiskey joins Burnside West End Blend American whiskey, Burnside Oregon Oaked Bourbon, and Burnside Goose Hollow RSV Bourbon as the fourth member of the Burnside family to be distributed in Oregon and other West Coast states.

The Oregon Oaked Rye is a small batch blended rye whiskey finished with Oregon Oak, or Quercus Garryana, barrels. Though it has only recently been removed from barrels and bottled, the Burnside Oregon Oaked Rye whiskey has already won the highly respected Double Gold Medal at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, beating scores of other rye whiskeys such as Bulleit Rye and Jim Beam Rye. Missouri’s Lohr to Distribute Redneck Riviera Whiskey

Eastside Distilling, Inc. (NASDAQ: EAST), makers of craft spirits, announced today that Lohr Distributing Company, a leading spirits and beer distributor in Missouri, will distribute Eastside Distilling’s Redneck Riviera Whiskey in the state of Missouri. Lohr Distributing Company, which is also the exclusive distributor of Budweiser beer in St. Louis, Missouri, will distribute Redneck Riviera Whiskey through its standalone division, Lohr Wine & Spirits. Redneck Riviera Whiskey, developed with John Rich, the multi-platinum country-music artist and one-half of the award-winning duo Big & Rich, is a small batch whiskey with vanilla honey smoothness and a subtle finish that was launched in January 2018.

Lohr Wine & Spirits offers more than 1,250 brands of wine and more than 525 brands of spirits to all licensed accounts in the state of Missouri. Lohr’s highly trained and experienced sales staff specializes in tailoring product selection to fit the clients’ specific needs. It is expected that Lohr’s team will quickly gain market penetration for Redneck Riviera Whiskey.

Redneck Riviera Whiskey was crafted by the famed distilling team at Eastside, including Travis Schoney and Mel Heim. Working over many months with input from John Rich and friends, the team painstakingly developed what Eastside and John Rich believe is a superb and easy-to-drink whiskey.
With the announcement of this agreement, Redneck Riviera Whiskey is currently available in Texas, California, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, North Carolina, North and South Dakota, Oregon, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kentucky, and Missouri. The list of states will grow as the product rollout continues.
